RULES

  1. All players must be registered members of the Series 7 Poker League.
  1. All Series 7 Poker League members must be 21 years of age.
  1. All tournaments are for entertainment purposes only. NO GAMBLING OR WAGERING OF ANY KIND IS PERMITTED. Any player in violation of this rule will have his or her Series 7 Poker League membership permanently revoked.
  1. No form of money of any kind may be placed on a Series 7 Poker League table at any time.
  1. The maximum number of players at any tournament, other than the National Championship, will be sixty-four (64). Any player who is denied participation in the first tournament on any given night will be offered the first available seat in the second tournament.
  1. No player arriving more than 30 minutes late will be allowed to participate in a tournament.
  1. Any player arriving late will pay the penalty of five times the largest blind currently in play on the table he or she enters.
  1. Players begin a tournament with a total of $4000 in chips, consisting of eight $25 chips, eight $100 chips, two $500 chips, and two $1000 chips. Chips have absolutely no cash value.
  1. A tournament ends when one player possesses all of the chips in play.
  1. A table consists of a maximum of 8 players, including a Dealer (who possesses the Dealer Button), a Small Blind, and a Big Blind.
  1. Players will take turns dealing in a clockwise rotation. The first Dealer will be determined by drawing for high card.
  1. The Small Blind is located to the immediate left of the Dealer Button. The Big Blind is located to the immediate left of the Small Blind. The exceptions to this are a) when there is no Small Blind position due to player elimination, and b) when only two players remain the Small Blind position will possess the Dealer Button.
  1. The Small Blind and the Big Blind are forced to place bets before the hand is dealt. The amount of these bets increases regularly according to the following structure: $25/$25, $25/$50, $50/$100, break and chip color-up, $100/$200, $200/$400, $400/$800, break and chip color-up, $500/$1000,$1000/$2000, $2000/$4000, and so on.
  1. Each blind level will remain in effect for 12 to 15 minutes. Breaks will be approximately 15 minutes long.
  1. Every player must take both the Small Blind and the Big Blind position once during each rotation of the deal.
  1. New players added to a table may not enter play in the either the Small Blind position or the Dealer position.
  1. When a player is moved to another table he or she must immediately take the seat assigned by the tournament supervisor or be eliminated from the tournament.
  1. Any player absent from a hand of play will be dealt cards and forced to place a blind if in the Small Blind or Big Blind position. If the player is not present when it becomes his or her turn to act, the hand is automatically folded.
  1. If the Dealer accidentally exposes a card while dealing, he or she will continue to deal cards in order and then replace the exposed card. The exposed card then becomes the next burn card.
  1. The burn cards and the muck pile must remain separate. Only the Dealer may touch the muck pile. If a player’s cards touch the muck pile, the hand is dead and all action is forfeited.
  1. The Dealer must shuffle the deck at least three times, and the cards must be cut.
  1. If a player lacks sufficient chips to match any blind or bet, he or she may become “all in” and is entitled to action on whatever amount of chips he or she has. One or more side pots could then occur for players with remaining chips.
  1. In order to claim a contested pot, the winner must show all hole cards. Cards call themselves.
  1. In the case of split pots that cannot be divided equally, extra chips are awarded to co-winners left of the dealer.
  1. When a player is eliminated from the tournament, he or she must leave the table.
  1. If two or more players are eliminated on the same hand, finishing position is determined by the greater starting chip count.
  1. A player’s chips and cards must remain on the table and visible at all times.
  1. A player must play his or her hand without help from any other person.
  1. If a player shows his or her cards to any other player at the table, he or she must show all.
  1. Bets must be placed in front of the player and not pushed to the center of the table until the betting round is complete. In other words, NO SPLASHING THE POT.
  1. A player must state his or her intentions: check, raise, or call.
  1. A player must place his or her bet in one motion. In other words, NO STRING BETS.
  1. In order to raise, the player must bet double the big blind or double the current bet in front of him or her. In other words, NO SHORT BETS.
  1. Tournament play is continuous except during regularly scheduled breaks.
  1. NO USE OF CELL PHONES AT THE TABLE.
  1. Players are expected to follow proper poker etiquette. Abusive or disruptive behavior could result in eviction from the tournament.
  1. English is the only language allowed to be spoken during the play of a hand.
  1. Series 7 Poker League officials have the right to alter or cancel any tournament.
  1. The tournament director’s decisions ARE FINAL.
